Privacy Policy — LINCROCORE Wi-Fi Analyzer for Windows

Wi-Fi Analyzer is a free tool that shows nearby Wi-Fi networks and helps diagnose your connection. Wi-Fi scan results and diagnostic reports are processed locally. The app does not automatically upload them to LINCROCORE LTD. User-started network tests communicate with the destinations described below.

What the app reads

  • Nearby Wi-Fi networks (name, BSSID, signal, channel, security) through the Windows WLAN API. Depending on the Windows version and privacy settings, access to Wi-Fi scan data may require location permission. The app uses this access to read Wi-Fi scan results; it does not determine or track your location. On Windows 11 this is typically Settings → Privacy & security → Location.
  • Your current connection, network adapters and drivers, IP configuration, and the Windows WLAN event log (connect / disconnect history).
  • Saved Wi-Fi profiles for the profile audit (security type, auto-connect). The app does not request or decrypt saved Wi-Fi passwords and does not display, copy or export them.
  • For the connection check (Check): the computer name, Windows version, time since start, free memory, processor load, free space on the system drive, the network name and type Windows gives the connection, and the adapter’s VLAN ID if Windows has one. Nothing about other people signed in to the computer is read.

This information is processed locally and is not automatically uploaded to LINCROCORE LTD. You can choose to copy, save or share reports yourself.

What leaves your computer

Only when you start them:

  • Network test checks the router and predefined public services: a DNS lookup of example.com, TCP connections to example.com or cloudflare.com, and TCP fallbacks to 1.1.1.1:443 and 8.8.8.8:443 (or the IPv6 equivalents 2606:4700:4700::1111 and 2001:4860:4860::8888).
  • Ping and Trace route send ICMP requests to the router, to 1.1.1.1, to 8.8.8.8, or to a host you enter.
  • Check sends ICMP pings to the router and to 1.1.1.1 (or 8.8.8.8 if it does not answer) and looks up example.com. Its report stays on screen; it is copied or saved only when you press Copy or Save as text.
  • Monitor: Live monitoring sends repeated ICMP latency probes to the router and the selected Internet target (1.1.1.1 by default) only after you start monitoring and while it remains active.
  • Internet speed test uses HTTPS to download and upload generated test data to Cloudflare’s public speed test service (speed.cloudflare.com). Cloudflare can see your public IP address and connection metadata, as with any website. No files, network names, BSSIDs or results are uploaded.
  • Contact / Report a problem opens a draft in your own mail app; nothing is sent unless you send it.

Recipients of network requests can observe the source IP address visible to them and request metadata. This is separate from uploading Wi-Fi scan results or diagnostic reports.

What is stored

The app saves settings, scan records and reports only when you choose to save them:

  • Settings (including the IT support contact for the report) are written to the app’s own folder only when you press “Save settings” and confirm. In the Microsoft Store version Windows keeps that folder inside the app’s package data and removes it when you uninstall the app. Files you saved to Documents or another folder you chose are not removed.
  • Scan history, AP labels, logs, projects and reports are kept in memory while the app runs and are written only when you choose “Save to file” and pick the default folder (Documents\Wi-Fi Analyzer) or another location.
  • The app does not automatically create diagnostic log files and uses no registry storage of its own.
  • Windows and the Java runtime may create technical files, such as graphics caches or crash diagnostics, independently of the app’s own saving features. Their contents and retention are controlled by those components; this policy does not guarantee that they contain no application or network information.

What the app does not do

No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no user accounts, no LINCROCORE servers, no cloud sync, no third-party SDKs that collect data. No packet capture or monitor mode.

Children

The app does not require an account and does not automatically upload Wi-Fi scan results or diagnostic reports to LINCROCORE LTD, regardless of the user’s age.

Changes

Changes to this policy are published with the app and on lincrocore.com.
